Hi it's been 6 months since I have eaten here, and it will be another six months before we come again.

The problem is still the same. I'm not a greedy person, but I thought it was called a carvery. You have to put more veg on your plate to make up for the lack of meat. I'm not pulling the chef down, with the skills he has got to cut meat that thin he would make more money doing skin grafts in a hospital.

We visit Monk's Bridge on a regular basis and I have to say 9 times out of 10 we are 100% happy. But, we generally go on a Sunday and have the carvery. Beautiful and well worth the money. However, the times we go mid-week and choose off the menu it is usually pretty poor.

Today, a hot Sunday and not really in the mood for a carvery, we ordered a ploughman's burger. The menu stated it came with iceberg lettuce, red onion, and burger sauce. Our burgers arrived with none of these. I asked where the salad was and was told it did not come with salad. I looked again at the menu and it is clear it does.

The burger was dry and hard to swallow. I have found on a few occasions that their meals from the main menu are poor.

The staff are friendly and welcoming; the carvery is spot on; it is a lovely, well-kept place; but I feel it is let down by the everyday menu.

The last time we had a bad meal there my other half refused to go back. After a while we tried again. I'm sorry, but you are losing customers. Please put as much effort in to your everyday menu as you do your carvery. It's letting you down! I love this place but I do want to enjoy ANY meal I have there!

Went for Sunday lunch 20/05/2018. Restaurant was not busy. Waited 45 minutes for meal to arrive, after having to ask how longer it would be. Was then told that was the waiting time. No mention at time of order.

When my meal came it looked like it had been thrown on to the plate. The sliced beef was tough, Yorkshire puddings was hard to cut, some of the potatoes you could not get your fork into, and the vegetables were mixed together, not place separately.

Not a nice experience. Would not go again.

Visiting from out of town and went to this place just by chance after reading the reviews. We were hesitant as to what to expect but what a surprise - songs were on point, ambience was amazing, food was fingerlicious and the staff could not be more helpful. We truly were impressed and definitely would recommend this place and we will be visiting again soon!

This is the third time we have been here. Always friendly staff, efficient, hard working. Excellent selection of food and plenty of it. I like it because I don't eat spicy food and there is always something I can eat. Would recommend to any of our friends.

Called on Saturday 5th May after a night at the races. Time was 8:55pm and asked if we were too late to sit down to eat. Four of us in total. The waiter was very helpful and said no.

We sat down, ordered our food, which was with us within 10 minutes. Best fish and chips I have ever had. Batter so light, real chips, and the fish was perfect. Staff were so attentive.

Finished off a great night out. Will be calling again.

So we were regular visitors to this restaurant along with my family. However, we decided to go on a weekday. Here is what we ate and how we found it:

+ Seekh kebabs were warmed up from last night, not fresh
+ Chicken Roast - under-cooked and could see RED under-cooked meat (complained about but no response what so ever)
+ Biryani - full of too much Garam Masala and Pickle which overpowered the rest
+ Pilao Rice - again not fresh
+ Vegetable curries (all of them were crap)
+ Pasta - nothing in the pasta container other than a half spoon full
+ Naan - under-cooked with uncooked dough in it

On top of that, we went with 2 kids (3 & 5) and we were charged full price for kids as well.

Not going back again. They have lost a regular customer.

If you like your pizzas to have a soggy bottom then you will not be disappointed. If, however, you like them thin and crispy (or even just chewy) then best go somewhere else. Considering that the only main course offered is pizza, this one-trick-pony failed at the first fence.

Having been a regular customer for over 10 years and always been reasonably satisfied with the food and service, until on Wednesday 2nd May when I had the misfortune to complain that parts of our meal were not hot enough. Whereupon an extremely unpleasant waitress called me a liar, insisting that the food was perfectly hot enough even though they were replacing it. I tried to explain that we would hardly complain if that was the case and I was then insulted by this waitress who told me that I was always rude to all the staff and effectively that they did not want my business.

This was offensive enough to me but my 99-year-old mother who was with me was deeply upset and when we got outside she burst into tears. Needless to say we will not be going there again and would recommend avoiding this place.

Absolutely top notch. Considerably better than any of the others in the area, service is fantastic, as is the food. Took a family member there who "hates" Indian food and they have come away a convert. Clean, friendly, superb waiters/waitress.

Food and service fantastic. I love Indian food and have eaten much of it across the world.

I'm from Bristol and stumbled across this place on a walk through Sheffield. The food is tasty, hot, well flavoured and without contentiousness. Well done, enjoyed every mouthful. Only regret is that I am full. Such a tasty meal and the Indian restaurants in the South West could learn a thing or two from you. Many thanks.

We came here today, Saturday 28th of April, for a late lunch. Adults had carvery and our 21-month-old had sausage and mash from the kids menu. Now it's 12:30am and our little boy is throwing up all over. Thanks Elmwood Farm, I'm fuming. Not good. I think I may need to report you to the authorities.

Once a year we visit Sheffield for the snooker, and our visit would not be complete without a meal at Akbar's. The food is wonderful, we've never had a complaint. The service is second-to-none and we eat a lot of Indian food country-wide but nothing beats the flavours of Akbar's food!

We were asked four times this evening by our waiter if everything was alright and each time we complimented them on their food.

We recommend Akbar's to all and sundry in Somerset and Bristol, as you will not find finer fayre anywhere!

Fox House is a magnet to the people of Sheffield, with a history of their youth in Derbyshire.

It is pub grub and fun for like minded people. On YouTube's Fox House Foxy Bird, it is summed up in satire in 1966 with Bobby Moor the Sheffield Locarno and the Fox House bear garden.

Poor service - power cut meant we had to eat in the dark. These things happen, however the meal was nowhere near usual standard. The waiter seemed to think the lack of meat (5-6 pieces at best) in my dish a result of the poor lighting. The meal returned, after my complaint, with the comment "is that alright for you".

When it came to payment we were sent up the road to the Co-Op to get cash. Despite knowing that the card machine wasn't working when we arrived, they forgot to mention this.

Think we'll try somewhere different next time.

Second visit here. Lovely, family-run restaurant. Went with family this evening to celebrate my partner's 65th birthday. What a lovely meal! Staff very attentive, wonderful evening! Can not recommend this restaurant enough. Will definitely be going back.

Booked a table for 6 people at 6:15pm last night. We ordered our food at 6:45pm. No food by 7:30pm so we asked a waitress was there a problem and was told there was a delay of 45 minutes.

Waited another 30 minutes and asked again. The waitress said there was 3 tables before us. Still no food by 8:30pm so we left.

We wasn't the only people complaining and at no point did anyone explain or apologise. We won't be going back any time soon.
