Fairways Inn (Birley Wood) - Paul Rogerson -

Rating:

I have used this restaurant for several years and it is good, decent, cheap pub food. The service is good, food is good and have enjoyed many meals over the years.

As a family we have also used the function room, which is reasonably priced, and suitable for birthdays, christenings & wakes. We have had special birthdays and 2 christenings and they have prepared well and provided a good venue.

Final comment, you can't please everyone - but this is a good local, family, child-friendly British Pub. My score 5/5.

Patoo (Hunters Bar) - Jenny Ross -

Rating:

First time visit tonight. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. Best Thai restaurant I've ever been to.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Definitely going back very soon.

Spoon (Woodseats) - Sally Dore -

Rating:

First visit for lunch. A very friendly, laid back place. Excellent food at good prices. The cheesecake was to die for. I only just managed to fit it in!

I will be back to this excellent, clean and friendly place with great food. Thank you for the brilliant service, compliments to the chef.

Koh-I-Noor (Handsworth) - Anthony Ali -

Rating:

I have been several times to Koh-I-Noor and have always enjoyed the food and service.

We went in a large party (20) last time for my mother's birthday and everybody enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent. They made a real fuss of the birthday girl. The manager giving free wine with the meal.

I recommend the buruchi lamb!

Cerrone's (Ecclesfield) - Jane Dolby -

Rating:

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and always great consistent food. Good price and great offers.

My family travel over an hour from outside Sheffield to visit us and always insist on going to Cerrone's, it's that good.

Highly recommended.

Peacock Inn (Owler Bar) - Suzanne Rogers -

Rating:

Booked a table and the menu looked fab. Got there and were shown to our table straight away.

Unfortunately, after half an hour we were still sat waiting, having been ignored by 3 members of staff - including what looked like manageress. Decided to leave - told the waiters - who were apologetic but it wasn't even THAT busy. Such a shame.

Went down the road to the Cross Scythes where the menu didn't look as exciting but the service was excellent. Know where we will go in future.

Peacock Inn (Owler Bar) - Barnaby Knowles -

Rating:

The pub has changed hands since the last reviews were written and my experience dining there was positive.

I ate with a party of 7 on a Friday night. There were a few other tables dining that evening but the pub wasn't busy.

Service was friendly and prompt, and the food appeared to be homemade, or at least not just warmed up in the microwave. No complaints about the meal from any of our party.

El Paso (City Centre) - Robert & Joanne -

Rating:

I Googled "Mexican food Sheffield" and found El Paso, what a result!

The food is excellent in value, quality, taste, and presentation. The portion size is more than ample and there is a good selection on the menu. The restaurant is clean modern and has a great atmosphere too, staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. I will be going back, thanks for a fabulous night.

Balti King (Broomhill) - Hasan Shah -

Rating:

As a student from the sub-continent I had a lot to miss from back home, and food was one of those things until I found Balti King!

Extremely delicious food as good as home, welcoming and friendly staff, traditional South Asian look, providing a lovely environment for diners.

Mamma Mia Pepe (Hillsborough) - Joyce Hargreaves -

Rating:

Went there weekend of 4/5/2013 for a family meal, x 3 generations and special birthday for Malcolm aged 69 years young.

Its location is just out of Hillsborough centre, up from Morrisons, on the tram route, so not perhaps the most obvious place to dine, but, the food is exceptional!

Decor gives authentic Italian feel and mood, small venue but homely. The service was quick and informative (full description given when we asked about each dish).

It was a great find, and we will be eating there again. They even didn't mind when we joined in signing with the rat pack songs. A great place to eat authentic Italian food.

Parthenonas (Highfield) - Leanne -

Rating:

We ate here tonight with a voucher from Living Social and it was fantastic!

The portions were huge, the food was amazing, just like being in Greece. The owner/waiter was really friendly and funny. I felt like I was in Greece with the atmosphere and music etc...

There is a wait between courses but this is traditional of certain parts of Greece and because the food is fresh and well worth the wait I will definitely be becoming a regular!

Cannot recommend highly enough!

Highly recommended.

Efes (City Centre) - Sue Taylor -

Rating:

Attentive service, tasty food. We were served bread while we waited for one of our party. The chef was happy to adapt one dish for a friend who cannot eat dairy.

The food is unshowy but fresh and plentiful. The Greek tea at the end of the meal was a nice touch and a welcome end to a pleasant meal.

The staff are welcoming and friendly without being obsequious.

El Paso (City Centre) - Alison -

Rating:

A lovely place. Relaxed yet prompt service, a wide-ranging menu, delicious food for a very reasonable price.

We had 3 courses, 2 bottles of wine and 2 lagers and it came to £70 which, considering we had the most expensive course, was a very good price.

We shall definitely be going again.

Woodhouse Spice (Woodhouse) - Andrew Walters -

Rating:

A very busy Sunday night probably caught the owners out a little bit, as everyone seemed to have brought vouchers with them, so service was a little slow. Could have used a few more hands on deck.

The food was OK, even if the sauces I tried did seemed very similar. If you live in the area it is probably worth visiting. If you live further afield I'm not sure it's worth the trip.

Everest (Heeley) - Eleanor -

Rating:

From the service to the food everything was excellent!

I attended a birthday meal hosted at Everest. There were around 12 of us and we all enjoyed every moment of it! We were looked after very well, the waiters were ever so polite paying attention to our every need. The scenery set the mood and our food was served up to the best standards to the way it tasted and to the way it was presented! Everything was perfect! Definitely the best Indian I have had, I would like to thank Everest for an amazing memorable experience and now I have found my perfect Indian around I will be certainly visiting on a regular.

If your looking for an Indian, Everest is one of a kind! I would definitely recommend it, you won't be let down!

Had a meal there last night on a Groupon offer. The food was excellent with large portions, well presented and cooked. Would visit again.

Swan (Ridgeway) - Karen Faram -

Rating:

I have been dining at the Swan since the 1980's - I have now moved to Worksop and still travel to the Swan.

The pub is set in the pretty old village of Ridgeway and the Swan is steeped in history. The home-cooked food is delicious, the price is good and the staff are very friendly, polite and welcoming.

I have yet to taste a meat and potato pie as good as theirs, and believe me I have eaten at many places. The mixed grills are huge, lamb shanks are tender and full of flavour. There are smaller portions of a lot of the menu for the less hungry.

The food and the value for money would be hard to beat these days. I would recommend you try it.

I went for mothers day. 6 adults and 2 children. Adults had pies and
children had Bolognese. We all ate everything, it was most enjoyable.

Ayesha's (Dronfield) - Shaun -

Rating:

The food choice here is brilliant. The staff here are really helpful and will advise on the dishes. The decor is A1 and the place has a relaxed feel. The food is superb and the service is A1. Price wise its good value. All in all a good experience.

Like a lot of places, parties with children and inconsiderate parents can spoil your meal, but this doesn't happen often. Do try, as you will enjoy.
