Italian Kitchen (Sharrow Vale) - Gemma Plate -

Rating:

I've now been to Italian kitchen probably once a month for the past six months. Always have such a great meal, and the staff are always very polite. I would honestly recommend this restaurant to anyone. You would have to go a long way to taste better home made Italian food.

Balti King (Broomhill) - Bob Wake -

Rating:

After having had a nice meal in the restaurant I thought I'd order a take-away. The delivery service was FREE and super fast so the food was still piping hot and no need to re-heat. This is my new favourite restaurant in Sheffield. I will definitely be ordering again... yum yum!

Rating:

Great Indian food at an affordable price! What I liked most was how affable all the staff were - from the moment we walked through the door they made us feel at home. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Indian food served with a smile.

Walkley Cottage Inn (Walkley) - Rix Hobbs -

Rating:

Very nice pub with a light and open interior and plenty of well-spaced seating.

Food is very good and the service is friendly and polite. Good range of beers, too, including some of my favourite Sheffield pales.

All round great pub.

Silversmiths (City Centre) - Michael Dominic -

Rating:

Great evening with my wife, who has coeliac disease, but this was not a problem at all, as many of the dishes were gluten-free or could be tailored for my wife's dietary requirement.

The food was excellent, and we were impressed with the innovative use of local produce, and some re-imagined versions of old favourite dishes. Really enjoyed the house cocktails with home-made ingredients!

The service was polite and attentive but not intrusive.

I have heard pie night is also not to be missed and we will certainly be back soon to try it out.

Yellow Lion (Aston) - Kate Wild -

Rating:

Terrible meal and no atmosphere in this pub, not at all what I was expecting! Below average, don't waste your money! Staff not bothered...

Go elsewhere!

Cow And Calf (Grenoside) - Sandy Shaw -

Rating:

We held a wake recently and the buffet was excellent. Hot and cold food including pizza, chicken, quiche, pork pie, sandwiches, cheese board, salad, sauces, cakes and pastries.

The quality of the food was excellent and plentiful, and the managers and bar staff provided an excellent service and good value at a very reasonable cost.

Would highly recommend it.

Koh-I-Noor (Handsworth) - John Smith -

Rating:

Excellent food and service. I will visit again and again.

Thanks to the staff and owner. They gave us ice cream complementary although we did not ask for it. Very nice interior.

Jumeirah Spice (Ecclesfield) - Beth Calder -

Rating:

We ordered a takeaway from here for the last time! I placed an order that came with one meal short. I rang to let them know. The man on the phone left me on hold a while before coming back and asking what was missing. I told him and he said it was never ordered. I know it was, as I had someone at the side of me to confirm, and it was also a special order.

He argued with me that I never ordered it and if I wanted it I would have to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes! Total insult and his attitude was horrendous. Told him not to bother, I would rather go without, much to his delight!

The food that we did receive was inedible, as the chicken was pink inside and chewy. You couldn't pay me to eat here again I could accept it if he had apologised but his attitude was out of order, and apparently he was the manager!

Balti King (Broomhill) - Leo King -

Rating:

I first found this restaurant when I was looking for a venue to help me raise money for charity, by running a ticketed curry night event. I found Balti King, and I'm so glad I did. From the get-go, the manager, Tony, did everything he could to help me, to make sure the event went smoothly, even going so far as to lower meal prices significantly for my benefit. He's a fantastic manager with a kind soul, all of which he puts into his restaurant.

I did eat there as well, and the food was impressive, although I couldn't finish it all! So, all in all, great food, great atmosphere, great manager. Good job Balti King!

Cerrone's (Ecclesfield) - Steve Sanderson -

Rating:

Me and my wife went to Angelo Cerrone's today. I have had Italian food in Italy, New York, Chicago. The meal we had you could not, and I mean not, fault. It was one of the most delicious Italian meals I have ever eaten.

Very friendly staff, fantastic chef, really amazing. A really nice restaurant. Be back very soon.

Fantastico.

Balti King (Broomhill) - Julia Blackburn -

Rating:

Found this little beauty on Groupon. Never expected it to be any good to be honest... how wrong was I!

We try and come at least once a month now. Travel from Rotherham. Celebrated Christmas, new year, birthday and Easter. At Easter they even gave us both flowers. Tony is always there to personally greet everyone, and his team are all very attentive.

Massive range of food. I've tried lots of different dishes and never been disappointed in anything.

We will carry on driving past all the Rotherham curry houses to go to our favourite.

Thank you,

Julia and Chrystal

La Taverna di Ferdinando (Greenhill) - Gary Ward -

Rating:

We have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions and have yet to have either a bad meal or bad service. The food is exquisite, and may be the best in Sheffield. The service from Reuben and the staff is always friendly and jovial, nothing is too much trouble and the prices are very reasonable.

Monk's Bridge Farm (Dinnington) - Cynthia Miller -

Rating:

Been to Monk's Bridge Farm for lunch today. The carvery, as usual, was second-to-none, but the reason for this review is to let you know how wonderful the staff are. So very helpful.

I took a friend who is not good on her feet. The chef offered to carry her dinner back to our table. I thanked him but said there was no need, I could take both meals. But he went and got a tray for me.

We had the most amazing apple crumble for sweet. Everybody is very helpful and it seems that nothing is too much trouble.

Thank you to everybody who works there. We try to get once a month, so keep up the good work, and the apple crumble.

Vito's (Walkley) - Katie Gascoyne -

Rating:

I've eaten at Vito's twice now and find it to be a mixed bag.

The food is lovely, no complaints there. Authentic Italian dishes and reasonable portions. However, you do pay accordingly. It's not mega expensive but it's certainly not cheap, considering that it's in Walkley, not the city centre.

The waiters have been polite but not exactly friendly nor enthusiastic. And it wouldn't hurt Vito to actually crack a smile. Plus serving food straight after a cigarette break, stinking of smoke, is not pleasant for diners.

Service could be better. Last time we ate there we were left sat waiting for 20 minutes because the waiter apparently didn't hear us when we asked for the bill. Fair enough, these things happen, but why not come back to our table when we were obviously sat there with no food nor drinks for so long?

Chequers (Coal Aston) - Jilly Orme -

Rating:

Today we visited and the staff are great but the food is not.

I had a cheese club on brown bread, which was dry, and the cheese, well, a glorified cheese slice and a bit of grated cheese. That's a club. So disappointing. The side salad was messy and there was tuna on the edge. The small dinner time meal of scampi was like a child's.

Wortley Arms (Wortley) - Alison Lindley -

Rating:

My husband and I had a nice meal in a lovely pub setting. The staff were pleasant, it was peaceful, but there was still a gentle murmur of people talking, laughing and joking. We really liked the pub.

Fairways Inn (Birley Wood) - Mr & Mrs Owen -

Rating:

We have been going for carvery. Found the food good in the past. Went today, had children's enchiladas for a change. Cost £7.90 with a mound of wedges i.e. 4 and 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Put in a complaint before leaving for some fish & chips. Won't be going there no more.
