McDonald's (Hillsborough) - Nathan -

Rating:

This McDonald's has just had a refurb. Looks awful, restaurant was a mess, several dirty tables. No one seemed to be taking charge. Manager spotted doing his P&L accounts on a table. Never raised his head once. Food arrived cold and incorrect. No children's crayons or balloons. Just really poor atmosphere.

Phoenix Inn (Ridgeway) - Nicola -

Rating:

We went to the pub today and sat straight outside as a party of five.

Two ordered food on the app, but the rest went inside to order, as plain food was required. We waited 15 minutes in a queue to order.

When we got to the front we asked to order food, the person serving us shouted across the room to another person "Mel what's happening with food?"

Mel then aggressively shouts did you speak to me? Did you speak to me about food?

Giving an embarrassed negative response and explaining that some of our party had ordered already, we were told "Well you can't have food."

So we are sat outside now with two of our party eating their food and waiting for them to finish so we can leave and go somewhere we can eat.

I totally understand that they are busy and that more people have turned up than they expected, but it isn't a very good way to treat people or run a business.

Whitby's (Rotherham) - Patricia Dykes -

Rating:

Really pleased at first, but the portions have been reduced to half and a small tub of curry £1.25 is a proper rip off. I won't be going again.

Mavi Ruya (Nether Edge) - Yasin -

Rating:

Mavi Ruya isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. From the warm welcome at the door, followed by an array of smiling, joyful staff, this place is delightful.

The food is ever so tasty. From the complimentary bread and dips, to the chargrilled meat, accompanied by wonderfully tasting drinks, such as wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. The Pinacolada is like no other!

To end the meal without trying their desserts would be a great mistake, their fresh baklava - recommended to be eaten warm - is to die for. Overall their food is really one of a kind.

And to say that wasn't the end of it. After finishing everything I was pleasantly surprised with a few pieces of Turkish delight; ending my evening on a sweet moment.

Thank you Mavi Ruya for a wonderful evening and to many many more!

Peacock (Stannington) - Lynn Garlick -

Rating:

Came to the Peacock today and not too pleased with service. We were not told we had to order from the bar. When we ordered they only had only 2 of the fish meals left and this was at 1:15PM. So one of our group had to order something else.

To me this is bad ordering on kitchen staff. Don't think the girl that served us was very well trained, either.

Won't be returning. It's a shame, as this pub used to be good.

Sword Dancer (Handsworth) - Lisa Harland -

Rating:

The food was cold, steak got more fat than steak, onion rings were soggy not crispy, every glass was dirty, chicken rubbery, fries and chips cold. Very disappointing. Rushing food out. Burgers were hard. Need someone who enjoys cooking.

McDonald's (Hillsborough) - Claire Sanderson -

Rating:

With the weather being unusually pleasant, we decided to eat outside in the dining area provided. All I can say is, what a **** hole.

It never use to be like this. What's gone wrong with Hillsborough McDonald's? There was always someone making sure it was clean and presented well. Has this guy left or what?

Not a pleasant place to come with the family, especially when the kids sit down and end up with ketchup all over their clothes.

Shocking how it's gone down hill.

Summer House (Dore) - Mohammed Aris -

Rating:

I started as kitchen porter and basic prep on the 17th April this year and all I can give this place is nothing but thumbs up, from the management to the owner, Kate, what a wonderful lady. She is hard working and dedicated.

The food and the effort these guys put in is out of this world. Worked in a lot of places but far the best. The highest standard of hygiene. Well done Kate. Wish you and your business all the best and thank you for all your support.

Fairways Inn (Birley Wood) - Lindsey Dyson -

Rating:

Don't book the function room unless you want to be charged a small fortune for the very small amount of food that's catered. For example paid £350 for 50 guest to feed. Actually received less than £50 worth of food and it was 75% cheap ass sandwiches (which the guest didn't eat cus they were rubbish).

Apart from that the restaurant food is good and most of the young staff are lovely.

Whitby's (Rotherham) - Graham -

Rating:

Went several weeks ago for a takeaway and when we got home we was amazed at the size of the fish, it looked more like a battered sausage.

So decided to leave it a while before a return visit and after reading recent reviews it seems to confirm that our experience what not a one-off.

Find it hard for the management not to respond to the reviews and give an explanation thus reaffirming the product.

Mavi Ruya (Nether Edge) - Steve Rastall -

Rating:

Purchaed a bottle of Champagne Taittinger Rose for our friends 40th wedding anniversary. I paid for the Champagne order over the phone and was charged £130 for this bottle and I know they retail at £45 max at supermarkets. This is a £85 profit! I know people have to make a profit but come on... Dick Turpin comes to mind. They said they would serve the Champagne after confirming guests names. Phoned me back for payment and how much it was after it had been served! What could I do...?

Will never go there myself.

Elmwood Farm (Beighton) - Kay Herring -

Rating:

Went for a carvery with my dad and sister. Always been happy until today, Tuesday 10th May. Minimal meat, hard broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, Yorkshire pudding too big for a small plate and extremely crispy.

All not very happy overall. Will be keeping away.

Phoenix Inn (Ridgeway) - Barbara -

Rating:

I have dined here on several occasions and have always been more than satisfied with the food, which I find is good value for money. I have an elderly mother who has a very small appetite and the staff are happy to serve her a small portion meal. The service is very good and Bev, in particular, is always very obliging.

Miller & Carter (Parkhead) - Jon Clark -

Rating:

A really enjoyable meal with my family at Miller & Carter today. Food was great. My 10oz sirloin steak really beautifully done. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.

Balti King (Broomhill) - Rob -

Rating:

We ordered onion bhajis and poppadoms for starters, then chicken tikka vindaloo and chicken tikka jalfrezi, pilau rice, and the biggest nan bread ever seen!

The food arrived promptly, very hot and tasty. Must be the all time top balti restaurant. Tony, the manager, is just the best host; very friendly and entertaining! Many famous people visit there, shows the standard of the food.

We cannot wait to visit again.

Elmwood Farm (Beighton) - K Landall -

Rating:

Went for breakfast buffet costing £6.99 each. Bought 4 adults and an additional adult-sized breakfast to share between 2 young children. We asked for an additional plate and was refused. After explaining that a 3-year-old wasn't going to eat a £6.99 breakfast by herself she reluctantly gave the plate, then proceeded to serve us with a bad attitude.

My husband's waffle order was missing. Half the ingredients the gent served after me had the same issues with kids meals.

Won't be returning.
