Jinnah Damaged By Fire

Jinnah restaurant in Ecclesfield was damaged by a serious fire in the early hours this morning. Firefighters were called at 2:30AM to reports that the ground floor was well alight. Employees living above the restaurant escaped before firefighters arrived.


Al Taj Restaurant Added

We have added a complete listing for Al Taj restaurant at 22-24 Commonside in Walkley. Al Taj serves Indian cuisine.


Maharaj Restaurant Removed

We have removed Maharaj restaurant, formerly of 22-24 Commonside in Walkley from our website, as it has reopened as Al Taj and we will add a new listing shortly.


Old Monk Pub Restaurant Added

We have added a complete listing for the Old Monk pub restaurant at 103-107 Norfolk Street in Sheffield city centre.


La Stanza Romana Restaurant Removed

We have removed La Stanza Romana restaurant, formerly of 51 chesterfield Road in Heeley from our website, as it has closed permanently.


May Update From La Mama Restaurant

Update from La Mama restaurant on Abbeydale Road:

Our new menu is fresh from the printers. Included are all the old favourites that our regulars enjoy with new additions such as Chipirones a la Plancha (pan fried baby squid with garlic and fresh chillies), Croquetas de Batata con Espinacas (sweet potato and spinach croquettes) and Cazuela de Garbanzos (chickpeas cooked with spinach, onions and fresh cod). We also have a new Fiesta Tapas set-menu starting from £14.95 per person - ideal for large groups wishing to celebrate a special occasion with us. Our new menu will soon be available on-line through our blog.

Live music returns Saturday 11th May with popular Sheffield jazz duo The Seven Shades performing at La Mama. Expect to hear swing jazz, bossa nova and oodles of the "old classics", including the likes of Cole Porter, Louie Armstrong, Miles Davis, Antonio Jobim, Wes Montgomery and Duke Ellington.

The Seven Shades are a duo consisting of John Draper (piano and vocals) and Stephen Mosel (double bass). Performance starts 7PM. The Seven Shades are very popular at La Mama so booking is advisable.

Remember to join us for our regular tapas happy hour - Monday all night and Tuesday to Thursday 6PM - 7:30PM, 4 tapas for £12.

For those of you with young families please make opportunity of our "kids eat free promotion" - children eat for free every Saturday afternoon between 3PM and 7PM. *T&C apply.

Taste Restaurant Removed

We have removed Taste restaurant, formerly of 655 Ecclesall Road at Hunters Bar because it has closed. In its place is a Syrian/Mediterranean cafe called Xenophily.
