Restaurant Charity Fundraiser

Restaurant fundraiser for hospital's scanner appeal

An award-winning Sheffield restaurant has added some extra spice to a local hospital's latest fundraising drive.

The Mogul Room, on Sharrow Vale Road, raised more than £1,370 for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity's DXA Scanner Appeal by hosting a curry buffet.

The event included a raffle with the top prize free use of a Porsche Cayenne for a weekend worth £800, donated by Boys Toys on Attercliffe Road.

Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity is aiming to raise £75,000 for a state-of-the-art DXA scanner, which is vital in the diagnosis of bone disease.

Mo Khan, manager of The Mogul Room, which was recently awarded the best Indian restaurant title in Sheffield by Westside magazine, said: "The evening was a great success - there wasn't an empty seat left in the whole restaurant and everybody enjoyed themselves whilst raising money for a great cause.

"The DXA Scanner will make a real difference to the lives of young patients and we are delighted that the money raised on the night will go towards the appeal."

Fran Hunt, fundraiser for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, said: "This was a perfect evening, raising lots of money for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity over a fantastic Indian meal!

"Mo was a great host and everybody who attended was so generous. On behalf of all the young patients who will benefit from the fundraising, the Charity would like to extend its sincerest thanks to Mo, all the staff and everybody who joined us on the night."
