Waited for too long. Set meal as well. Bought-in, poor, not fresh. Probably not enough microwaves. Visited on 24th, Christmas Eve. Waiting for change again.

Rating:
Booked our Christmas dinner here (2016), and what a disappointment it was.
The dinner was very poor with the smallest pieces of meat I have ever seen on a plate. People in our group had things missing off their plate, with hardly any gravy. The meal cost us over £500 for our group and we all felt very let down.
Will definitely not be booking ever again. The service was also very slow & poor, bringing orders to our table that we had not asked for.
Poor.

Mama's & Leonie's (City Centre) - D Baxby -
Rating:
Very simply this was dire. Nothing was freshly prepared, the range was dreadful and much was not available. The gluten-free range was very limited, as the sauces and ingredients were not gluten-free, a sure sign that all the ingredients were out of a packet.
I have never seen a ravioli prepared in a way that resembles a lasagne. I have also never seen an antipasto served with four pieces of pepperoni, anchovies and mussels.
By far the worse Italian meal I have had in a long time.

Peacock Inn (Owler Bar) - Claire -

Went in today (27th December) at 1pm. Not too busy. Ordered off lunchtime menu and kids menu. Had garlic bread starters, which were good. But then waited an hour for mains, and when they arrived the chips were cold, though when mentioned, the waitress provided replacements.
Quite expensive and the wait for a couple of sandwiches and chips was ridiculous. Has put me off returning.

Crown & Cushion (Chapeltown) - Miss Jones -
Rating:
Well where do I begin? We were introduced to The Crown and Cushion after my daughter moved to the area, we never had a bad meal and I did highly recommend this place to family and friends. We were impressed so much with the food and service that on New Year's Day 2016 we went to The Crown and Cushion for a meal and decided to book for Christmas dinner. We were advised by a member of staff that the Christmas dinners were a 3-course meal for £60 per head, we were not asked to pay any deposit at this point. We booked for 5 of us, we were contacted in November and asked to go in any pay the deposit, which we did.
We went for Christmas dinner, we would not normally eat out on Christmas day but thought we would give it a try this year. Well what a huge disappointment it was, so much so that I do not think I could eat at the Crown and Cushion again. My son-in-law wanted to order the venison and a member of staff informed him that it was very bloody, so he asked for this to be cooked longer than normal. My partner and son also ordered the venison, but they were happy to have this bloody. I ordered a prawn cocktail for my starter. There was barely any sauce so I had to ask for more sauce.
When the main meal came to our table the venison was not bloody, as the member of staff had advised, so my son-in-law was left eating a tough piece of meat because he was told it was very bloody and this was not the case.
I ordered the turkey dinner, which was very cold. I was also somewhat surprised to find an unwanted hair on my plate, which as you can imagine made me gip and I ended up leaving the Christmas dinner.
I did not want to complain at this point because it was Christmas day and I knew that if I said anything this would have put the rest of my family off their meal. So instead I left my meal and told my family I felt full with the starter. I then had to take my desert home with me, as I felt too sick to eat this, I just could not face anything else.
We then asked for the bill and I was shocked to see that they had charged us £69.95 per meal so I went to the tills to challenge the bill. I was told that after we had booked in January 2016, although we were told it was £60 per person, the price had actually gone up but no one had had the courtesy to contact us. They had all our contact details to inform us of this. I challenged the bill and they did end up allowing us to pay £60. I regret now not complaining about my meal, but did not at the time because I quite simply did not want to ruin my family's day.
I am just wondering how many other people who ate yesterday at the Crown and Cushion were charged £69.95 yet booked at £60 and also whether any other people found a hair on their food. I am extremely disappointed about this and it did actually ruin my Christmas day so just wanted to warn other people. I am not sure if the chefs wear hairnets but even so the staff fetching meals to the table do not and finding a hair on my food is a huge pet hate of mine and should never ever be allowed to happen.

Absolute garbage. Visited 22/12/2016 with kids. Had to wait over 40 minutes and ordered lasagne, which had hardly any meat and was all pasta. Pies where disgusting. And as for kids, the wraps were rubbish. Most of the meals ordered were cold and definitely not worth the wait. Will not be returning.

Rating:
Don't go here if you need to eat gluten-free! Despite ringing beforehand there is very little to eat. I ended up with salad and plain rice, followed by chocolate ice cream, rubbish.
Had to rate 1 star to send review but would have rated zero.

I visit regularly. Cannot complain at all. The breakfasts are decent. Service speeds can be unpredictable for dinner at busy times but I'd say the same for most restaurants. The waiters are superb with my children.

Lovely breakfast, great service. I witnessed the waitress spill the beans and she was so apologetic. Ignore the haters, the waiting staff are lovely and the food is fresh. The girl was very apologetic and couldn't do enough. Sometimes people are out just for a freebie. It's not the end of the world. We loved our breakfast and wouldn't cry over spilt beans.

Went in Wednesday night. Very disappointed. Seemed to forget about people eating in the bar area and concentrated more on private parties. We are all paying customers.

Pretty awful really. Went for breakfast, waitress threw food over me and the seat, I cleaned it up and the final insult was they charged us full for the meal.
Will never go back again.
Oh and it would be zero stars if that was an option.

Had dinner here now on a few occasions with my wife. To put it simply, go. Unique experience but the food truly is very very good. We find it better on weekdays, as the atmosphere isn't as hectic as weekends.
Oh and for once in an Indian the wine list and beer selection is not only quaffable but downright good!
Go, try, and enjoy.

I'v been ordering from Balti King for 19 years but recently they have gone downhill. Last time I ordered it took 3 hours and was cold. Tonight they didn't send the garlic bread I ordered, and when I rang to ask where it was the woman was rude and off-hand. When she said "what do you want me to do" I asked that they send me the garlic bread. Well that was an hour ago and still no garlic bread.
Never going there again!

Paid £26 for takeaway. Totally overrated and overpriced. Chips were crap, curry had peppers in it, which we've never had before. Won't be going back!
