AEK Trio

A very exciting night for La Mama as we welcome Guarachando Yemaya - expect traditional Cuban music, cha cha cha, boleros and salsa. This act will be bringing culture and excitement to your evening so expect your feet to be moving under the table! Don't miss!

Warming up for Guarachando Yemaya during the afternoon will be Sheffield Latin DJ extraordinaire Chris Welch. Chris has been a mainstay of the Latin scene for years in Sheffield holding residency at Phonetics, Adelante, Kabal and Cubana. We have DJs playing from 2pm, throughout the afternoon!

Jemma Freese

Jemma Freese is a jazz and soul pianist, singer and composer with a contemporary edge who performs original material and her own re-harmonised versions of jazz standards and pop songs with a fresh flair. A recent graduate from Leeds College of Music in Composition & Jazz and part of Jazz North Introduces, a handful of places she has performed at are Whites, Cucina, Cubana, Revolution de Cuba, Seven Arts, Marsden Jazz Festival, Lancaster Jazz Festival, Bankside Festival, The Domino Club and Hyde Park Pub and she is soon to play at Vortex Jazz Club in London.

Some of her influences are Gretchen Parlato, Lionel Loueke, Esperanza Spalding, Lianne La Havas, Robert Glasper and Richard Spaven. So expect smooth & emotive vocals, rhythmical bass lines, jazz inspired harmony with piano and vocal solos.

We have removed Mumbai restaurant, formerly of 617 Ecclesall Road, as it has closed permanently.
