Akbar's (Rotherham) - Jen -

Rating:

Experienced amazing service. Every employee smiling and acknowledging us. We were asked a few times if everything was OK. Cleared the tables fast. Such good service. Highly recommend. Food was so yummy. My sister had a lovely birthday meal. Thank you to Akbar's.

Beijing City (Greenhill) - Jess -

Rating:

We have always gone there for celebrations and it has always been excellent. But we went on 12th February 2017 and it was awful!

They charged a 9-year-old an adult's price, and she hardly ate anything anyway, as she doesn't eat Chinese! The amount of food she ate would have been cheaper to order her an actual meal not a buffet price! They asked to measure my 7-year-old daughter! Absolutely disgusting way to behave I think! What does it matter about the size of the children! My daughter could be tall for her age and eat next to nothing. I will not be visiting here again!

We spent over £120 and they still had to charge the children as adult prices because of their height. I think this is under new management, as I said we have always come here and never been treated like this!

Oh and they charged us ridiculous prices for glasses of pop, after we saw them fetch bottles of pop from the shop next door!

Cow And Calf (Grenoside) - Sharon -

Rating:

Visited today for Sunday lunch. Very busy, glad we reserved a table.

All staff very friendly and the chef definitely knows her job, fantastic home made food with delicious desserts.

We will be returning and would recommend for either a quiet drink or to eat.

Kashmiri Aroma (Woodseats) - Shelley -

Rating:

I'm very fussy with Indian food because I love it so much. This place is amazing - best Indian I've had in the UK so far. Good portions, and reasonably priced food. Service is nicely timed and staff are kind. I really recommend this place, I go every weekend and still crave it through the week. If you like spice I recommend the lamb madras.

Meadow Farm (Ecclesfield) - Ms M J Edwards -

Rating:

Shocking service, and shocking meal after waiting for ages. No kids hot dogs, burgers or pizza at 1PM, and we come here every week. Not enough staff to cater for kids to be off school. Really disappointing.

Coal Grill and Bar (Meadowhall Shopping Centre) - Paul -

Rating:

Took my wife for lunch for her birthday (Meadowhall branch). Have to say, very disappointed, cost me £40.

We both ordered brisket (mine was in a brioche) and I had to take every piece of meat out of my sandwich to take the fat off, which was soft like jelly, it was very off putting. My wife's was the same but she didn't have as much fat on hers. Coleslaw was bland and tasteless, and fries were nothing special, either.

Left half of mine and wife left some, too. I told the waitress, who just said "I'll let the chef know", no apology. And when she came back she never said anything and just dropped our bill on the table.

Would not recommend to anyone. Came away feeling robbed. Will never go there again.

Oisoi (City Centre) - Helen Wren -

Rating:

Wandered in off the street and was lucky enough to get a table.

Really enjoyed a fabulous Korean meal, a cuisine I hadn't tried before. The service was great and the flavours and contrasting textures of the ingredients made for one of the most delicious meals I have eaten for ages. My husband and son were equally impressed by their choices.

Cutlers Spice (Gleadless) - Chris -

Rating:

Have been going there over two years. Always polite and friendly. Food always of generous portions and served to the highest quality. Reading the bad reviews tells me they are not genuine comments.

San Lorenzo (Crookes) - Donna -

Rating:

I have given this restaurant five stars on food. It was beautiful. The only downside is you are rushed, and they didn't mention about a service charge and there was nine of us, so the bill was a lot.

Chequers (Coal Aston) - Gillian Mills -

Rating:

Been this evening for a meal. The food was excellent and the service was second-to-none. Will definitely be going back again soon.

Meadow Farm (Ecclesfield) - Michael Stevens -

Rating:

Tried to book a table for 7 adults and 4 children but told just to turn up and and wait. How long would we be waiting for that amount of tables to be free? What century are we living in? Just lost a decent booking. We'll go somewhere more customer friendly.

Bella Donna (Renishaw) - Emma Land -

Rating:

Very rude staff. Booked a table for my birthday. Forgot 2 starters and forgot 2 mains. Lady extremely rude and argumentative towards my husband when complaining about cold food. Will not return. Feel completely let down. Should not be called Italian. More like fast food outlet.

Shoulder Of Mutton (Worrall) - John Barker -

Rating:

Very good food. Nice menu choice & prepared well. Fine selection of drinks, both wine & beer. Staff very pleasant & efficient.

Unfortunately, children were running around as if it were a playground - up & down & round the pub and never stopping. This was after 7:30PM. Spoiled the evening. What a shame.

Silversmiths (City Centre) - Matthew Hague -

Rating:

We would like to thank all the team at Silversmiths for the fantastic food and service last night at Valentine's night.

So well planned-out, and we can't wait to see you all again.

Thanks again, Matt & Lyn.

Rajput (Walkley) - Jan Bennett -

Rating:

My friend and I went to the restaurant on Friday early evening as we wanted to "sit and chill" and chat.

The food was fantastic, as it has been previously, but no sooner had we finished a course then a waiter appeared and whisked our plates away, to be replaced by our next course. I had nearly finished my main course when a waiter appeared again and asked if we were finished, of which I replied "No".

Again no sooner had I put my knife and fork down then the waiter appeared and whisked the plates away. We were asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, which we didn't. Both my friend and I felt uncomfortable, as waiters were staring at us (for our beauty I'm sure!), as they clearly wanted us to leave so they could use the table again.

We were completely rushed throughout our meal, it wasn't the chilled meal we wanted. Yes it was a Friday evening but we felt we had to rush our meal and leave, leaving us both feeling quite disappointed, and unwelcome.

We won't be returning for a "chilled" evening in the near future.

Rajput (Walkley) - Carla -

Rating:

Brilliant food, lovely restaurant and the staff work incredibly hard and have always been polite and helpful. Possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at. I'd recommend trying their dhansak or any of the kahari dishes. The starters are also a must.

Bowshaw Inn (Dronfield) - Amanda Sumner -

Rating:

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The food was nicely cooked, and the vegetables were just right. The staff were very friendly and the service good. Being a Saturday night it was quite busy but our waitress popped to our table several times to check everything was OK. I shall be going again.
