A good restaurant with delicious food, friendly service & a relaxing atmosphere. Try Aloo sagg in vegetables, it is very delicious and was one of the suggestions from the staff. The price is also reasonable, so enjoy!

Every time I fancy an Italian meal I always find myself here because I know I will get a decent meal. The bruschetta is the best I've had and I've had the pizzas and a few pasta dishes and have never had a bad meal yet.
The only thing that lets it down are the desserts. They seem to sell out really quickly and some of them taste like cheap frozen ones from the supermarket. Luckily I'm usually too full from the starter/main to mind too much.
Its usually quite busy so the tables seem to be getting more and more squashed together but the quality of food has never let me down. The waiters are polite but aren't the over friendly, pestering type, which is fine by me. The door man is a good touch too although I do feel sorry for him.

Really enjoyed my meal, the food was delightful, the made-in-house desserts were a beautiful ending to an enjoyable meal.
The male waiter who served us was attentive, friendly and dare I say very handsome. Despite being pricey it was well worth it. I shall be visiting again soon.

We recently booked a table for 8 people for my birthday. The reservation was made 3 weeks prior, so plenty of notice was given. The table was booked for 9PM but on arrival we were told it wasn't ready, so we waited 20 minutes.
Once seated we found the waiter to be very rude and unwelcoming. After ordering drinks we were told to calm down. Hence, we were only talking between ourselves. After being spoken to so rudely we quickly vacated the restaurant.
Cannot comment on the standard of food only the hospitality, which left a lot to be desired! So if you like eating in silence this may be the place for you.

Initially we enjoyed our meal at this restaurant and there was nothing wrong with the food or the service.
However, because the restaurant was busy and there were people waiting to be seated they tried to hurry us out. They asked us if we needed a taxi when we had not even finished our meal! And when we ordered coffees they said they had "run out of coffee"! We had been there for only 45 minutes and not taken too long over our meal.

Each time I visit El Paso it gets better. The food and the service are excellent and it has a brilliant atmosphere. We had the disco room after the meal, which was free. Had a great night.

I have been to Piccolos many times and must say it is one of the best. But, a word of warning: the last time there, when asked what I would like to drink, I did not look at the wine list and ordered a house wine rosé. When we received the bill we were charged £16.50, which I think is a bit over the top for house wine.

Found this restaurant from your website, so a big thank you first. Booked my birthday party for 20 of us there and have to say that we all had an absolutely brilliant time.
The food and service was fantastic. My friend who was with me has booked her birthday party there as well. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend booked a table at this restaurant on Ecclesall Road, you must not!
It was freezing and empty, the food was terrible and almost inedible. I can say it was the worst swordfish and pigeon I have ever tasted. My other half left most of his, too.
As for desserts just the same, terrible. The best and only good thing about the night was the wine, but at £33 for 2 bottles I would hope so.
I didn't complain to the staff or my boyfriend as it cost him nearly £100 and I didn't want to upset him. But, boyfriends out there, please take your lovely ladies somewhere else.

OK, I know I am going to get slated for this review, as the entire population of Sheffield have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant.
We eat out at least three times a week, thus my expanding waistline! We have tried many different types of places to eat, so although I am no Raymond Blanc I am not a total novice.
Anyway I have been to Vito's four times over the last 2-3 years, mainly for other people's special occasions. I am not over fussy and will only complain if there is a genuine need to. However, I have yet to have a good meal at Vito's (yes start throwing the tomatoes).
I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about perhaps there is some kind of brainwashing once you get through the door and I am the only one immune to it. I just find the food very, very average and overpriced.
I also find it amusing as to how people act once they are in this place, like they are worshipping the owner and his restaurant, very bizarre and a little disturbing I have to say. So although I am totally on my own in this opinion of Vito's I felt as though I just had to say very average food, overpriced and nothing special at all (I am now on my way out of the country to avoid the mob I know is on its way).

Just felt I had to put up a review, having just had tea for the first time in the Sheffield branch of Piccolino, it was great!
I very nearly didn't go, as when I last went to the Didsbury branch I ended walking out after 20 minutes of no attention. I have to say that they didn't have this problem tonight.
Great service, had a couple of the "tapas" dishes, a couple of the starters and a pizza to share. Perfect, just the right amount of food, good attentive service, very nice atmosphere. All in all a great meal.
The only thing that let the place down sadly were the desserts, which would have been so much better if they were fresh. Both of the desserts, including the "special" were clearly bought in. After such great food it was a little bit of a let down! However, more importantly I had a welcome meal in a warm restaurant with staff the smile! Will be back soon.
Wow, wow and tipple wow! Me and my boyfriend absolutely adore this restaurant.
Their garlic bread starter is an absolute must - easily the best garlic bread in the UK!
We have been here a number of times and always have a gorgeous meal but last time we went I had the sea bass and I can honestly say it was the best meal I have ever had!
The staff are always wonderful and you can see the chefs working.
The restaurant is quite small so you have to book beforehand usually but it is so cosy and lovely and authentic Italian down to the minutest details.
We have tried lamb shanks, fajitas, sea bass, salmon, pasta dishes and never have we been disappointed.

I first visited El Paso with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I had never even noticed El Paso before although I go past it every day. We decided to go as friends had recommended it to us and there were plenty of good reviews on your website.
Great food and atmosphere. The staff were really friendly, and the food was wonderful and the portions were large and I would say value for money.
The whole visit was wonderful. There was a disco after the meal, which was really busy. Told my friend about it and she's booking her hen night there. Will definitely be back there again.

Booked table for six for Sunday 19th August, looking forward to this very popular dining experience very well recommended.
A little disappointed at the menu, as on Sunday it is only the daily lunchtime one. This did not include any type of pizza or lasagne. The only meal for my non pasta-eating husband was sea bream, which was well presented with a few roast vegetables. The salad was delicious the olives were large and very tasty. My pasta was on special at £5.00 this was "fresh" pasta as opposed to the other kind I did not understand this explanation, I thought all pasta would be fresh at this restaurant.
We were assured that there was a children's menu, this was very disappointing with only four items to choose from. Once again no pizza. The children had a small portion of a main meal, which both thought not bad.
The desserts are expensive at £5.50 for typical Italian sweets, but once again not much choice. We had Toblerone Martini for our liquid dessert, which tasted more of Baileys than Toblerone.
Perhaps we chose the wrong night to visit Nonna's. We enjoyed the evening even though there was a very noisy crowd in the adjoining bar area.
The staff here are very good, with a young man on hand to fill up our wine glasses.
The evening was not cheap, but it was a nice experience and if we do go again, it will not be a Sunday.

As a treat my son took my two grandchildren and my to Thyme Cafe for lunch. The board displayed lots of lovely dishes but not very much for the two children aged 8 and 10. They are familiar with eating out and have a good taste in food, but the dish that was most appealing to them was good old burger and chips.
The children don't eat much cheese but when the burgers arrived they were covered in cheese, although they were ordered as plain burgers. The burgers were taken away, 20 minutes later two more burgers were brought. These consisted of ciabatta bread bun and a ball of pink mincemeat in the middle. At this point our meal was ruined, the kids were just about in tears, and my son was angry as his treat had turned into a fiasco.
My lunch was a vegetable lasagne, which consisted of one piece of red pepper, one piece of green pepper, a piece of very tough aubergine, underneath one piece of lasagne and a very mediocre sauce.
I have emailed Thyme on several occasions and contacted Martin Dawes of the Star, Martin has replied but Thyme have just ignored this complaint.
I must add that my daughter and son-in-law went to Artisan another of the Thyme chain on the Friday before our lunch and had a wonderful meal.
I would just love someone from Thyme to get in touch and just explain away my complaint. Thanks for listening.

I visited El Paso for a friend's birthday party and have to say that we had a great time and the food was excellent. The place was full. We shared the upstairs disco with another hen party. We will be going back again

Genuine Italian restaurant - with space a bit limited, we were a bit crammed in a corner. Ordered Calamari Fritti for starters, which was beautiful. Tried a pizza for main course - it was not very big but tasty with a very nice base, maybe a bit on the oily side.
The best thing though was the Bolognese, simply gorgeous! This is proper stuff... probably the best pasta in Sheffield. You won't be disappointed. Slight negative point: a slight smell of burned cheese coming from the oven. Maybe you only notice it because nobody smokes anymore!

What an excellent restaurant. We have been as a couple and in a party, and each time the atmosphere was great and the staff were wonderful and friendly.
El Paso is a real gem of a restaurant. They do the best garlic bread cheese and chimichanga I've ever tasted. The upstairs disco was great after our meal and we danced away 'till late.
