We go to Butler's Balti House quite often, the food is always brilliant and the service and friendliness of the staff is great. We would recommend Butler's to everyone.

For my girlfriend's birthday I was keen to take out for a nice meal and spoil her. I chose El Paso, as it was highly rated on this website. It turned out to be the perfect choice.
The atmosphere was fantastic, we had great service and most of all the food was probably the best food that I have eaten in Sheffield in the 6years that I have been here.
10/10 in every area and without fail. A fantastic restaurant, I will be returning... soon!

After many months of passing by and intending to visit. I finally visited the Rowsha restaurant for the first time on my birthday. Both the food and the service were faultless. We both had starters and mains and shared a desert. I had the mixed grill and the meat was very fresh and well cooked it was well-presented with some fresh salad, rice and a spicy tomato sauce. My girlfriend had a salmon dish, which came with a tahini sauce (I think) topped with pine nuts which was very also very fresh, well-cooked and tasty. Both our starters were very good too.
The service was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will definitely be returning, hopefully soon!

This was our first visit to El Paso and it won't be our last. There were so many interesting things on the menu that we want to return soon so that we can try more of them.
The menu was very extensive and exciting. Everything is authentic and they even make their own dough for the garlic bread. The staff were very friendly, polite and professional and made us feel very welcome. The food was gorgeous and I would definitely recommend this restaurant. There was a disco in the function room for everyone after their meal.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, entertaining menu! No bad points.

I recently visited the Door Moor Inn on a quiet Sunday lunchtime. There was only one member of staff on at the bar who took an absolute age to serve the customer in front of us. After waiting at least 10 minutes, with no eye contact or apologies, we ordered drinks, there was very little choice of red wines. The food was nothing special, I asked about the fish specials and was told that it was fish and chips. The service and customer care at the Door Moor leaves much to be desired.

Called for Sunday lunch carvery to find no longer had Sky TV
Worse still, they took our cash (which somehow is unjustifiably £3 more on Sunday than the rest of the week for the same thing) at the bar, only to be told when in the carvery queue that the beef was off and would not be ready for at least an hour.
The turkey was dry and the remaining ham was scraggy ends that I wouldn't have put on any plate. All the vegetables, the peas, carrots and cauliflower cheese were of the frozen variety, plus the roast potatoes were hard in the middle and the Yorkshire puddings were soggy
Bonus - the cranberry was delightful and the barman very good. It's a pity the same can't be said for the miserable, sour-faced chef carving the little bit of meat he had at 3PM on a Sunday afternoon.

This review relates to an evening meal we had at the Angel Inn on 22nd August 2008. We arrived at about 6PM, the Angel was practically deserted but although they had reservations we easily found a table. It was our second visit, as we had been impressed the first time we went one lunchtime.
The restaurant is very pleasant. The welcome and service were friendly and food prices about normal for this type of venue. I chose a sirloin steak and my wife the Fisherman's Platter. Portions were of a reasonable size. I'd asked for my steak to be cooked medium-rare. When it arrived it was scorched and hard on the outside, while it was still slightly bloody on the inside it could hardly be described as rare. My wife's meal was OK. When the waitress asked how our meal was I told her about the steak and after mentioning it to the chef she offered me a free dessert, which I accepted.
When we paid the price seemed too high for us to have not been charged for the "free" dessert but we were only given a total figure so we have absolutely no way of knowing one way or the other. We paid and left without any comment.
Although we would not have left a tip this time it would have been useful to know if there was a tip bowl or not, it appeared not.
This was a disappointing 2nd visit, which we had been looking forward to for some time.

My second dine at the Bella Napoli. Immediately I am confronted with a friendly, warm and cosy environment, albeit a venue on the small side. Not a problem though as I proceed to scan the menu selection. All fairly typical of Italian restaurants in the area. A simple order of 'Special Pizza' and 'Risotto Marinara' accompanied by plain garlic bread, nothing too exotic. The order placed is fairly swift and I note the waitress and hostess is kept busy by the half-dozen tables. Almost immediately a service of black and green olives in light seasoning is placed on the table. A welcome addition although I later realise it's a half-hearted apology for the impending wait.
The garlic bread arrives after some 35 minutes, the pizza and risotto another half an hour later. On my first visit similar service time was observed with a 1 hour 15 minute wait on an evening that wasn't that busy. Herein lies the problem, one waitress and two chefs.
Of course such disappointment can be tempered and overcome by outstanding food. In this case I cannot offer such an enthusiastic recommendation. The garlic bread was rather bland. The pizza had a somewhat doughy taste and was on the 'rare' side. The risotto, for all its promise, had a seafood selection that was prepared akin to a cardinal sin. In short, overcooked and rubbery.
It wasn't that the food was unpleasant but as much effort and heart that is included in this Italian recipe does not make up for the inefficient service time and generally average tastes.
To offer some enlightenment, you can take your own wine and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. However, to offer a final negative footnote, you cannot pay by card and have to revert to cheque or cash... so last century.
In all, I cannot recommend this restaurant but if you have time to kill and fancy a change then firstly I would indulge in one of the other numerous restaurants in the Nether Edge area. If they are too busy then you may be tempted. After all it isn't bad, just not particular good in any area.

Saturday the 9th of August 2008 was the second time I had been to the Tapas restaurant, Cubana. We arrived at about quarter past six and asked for a table for three, which was met with a furrowed brow from our waiter as we did not have a reservation.
Fair enough, I thought as I'd imagine most people would make reservations around the seven o'clock mark. He said would be okay but he would need the table back in an hour. Again, I thought that's fair enough as we would be finished by then and thought no more of it.
We ordered the set menus, which were on an early bird deal until 6:30PM at a reasonable price with a good variety of dishes. The food arrived at a steady pace with plates soon flooding the table, eyes bright like a childhood Christmas morning with Transformers following Scalextrics.
The set menu provided a good mix of dishes as I mentioned consisting of mainly safe bets like the giant meatballs, Chorizo, a nice omelette/frittata and a delicious chicken and sweet potato dish in a creamy white wine sauce. Personally, I would have liked to have seen some more seafood as we only had the prawns in the filo pastry but that's the set menu I suppose.
We drank San Miguel on draught with a good amount of bread and tapenade to accompany the meal to give your taste buds natural breaks between each little meal. Towards the end of the feast, we noticed our Patatas Bravas had not arrived. We chased these up with the waitress and received them promptly.
Feeling full but not overly so, (a great achievement considering the amount of food consumed) we decided against a desert and asked for the bill. Finishing our drinks, I wondered how we were doing time wise with the gentleman wanting his table back. The waitress collected our payment and we sat waiting for our change to arrive.
We sat and waited for around ten minutes. During this time, the gentleman who showed us to our table buzzed around frequently, shouting across us to the waitress in Spanish and gesticulating, not in the most subtle way possible, at our table.
After this happened a few times, we felt quite uncomfortable and told the gentleman that actually, we were waiting on them for our change. The waitress half apologised for the "mix-up", coming back quickly with our change which must have been sat around doing nothing.
This was at a time when the restaurant was about 3/4 full with quite a few people like ourselves about ready to leave, not exactly peak time. We quickly debated about a tip when I let my manners get the better of me and left 10%, which on reflection I probably regret.
On the whole, great food with a good menu but a few things that would be pretty easy for the restaurant (i.e. service issues/good manners) to sort out quite soured the experience for me, which is a real shame. I'd probably think twice about going again as there is a lot of choice for Tapas places.

Had a great meal at Zeenat last weekend. The staff were excellent, finding a large party a table with short notice.
The place looks amazing. The colour scheme and the lighting really set the mood.
We had a variety of dishes, including English dishes and every one agreed the food was superb. I had mine done apna style (traditional) and could not fault it. One of the waters mentioned that they will have more apna style dishes on their new menu. Can't wait!

My friends took me here for my birthday party after reading several good reviews and it was really good! We all had a great time. The food tasted authentic, as were the cocktails. Definitely worth a visit. I actually thought it was good value for money as well.
They also embarrassed me greatly after the meal with a birthday song and I had to drink a flaming sambuca. We had a disco in the function room afterwards.

I am a retired Director of a Swiss based multi-national. I have eaten at all of the world's top restaurants, however Vito's took my breath away.
The un-assuming exterior hid a gastronomic delight. The staff were so friendly that I felt as if I was saying good-bye to good friend when I left! I started with the Antipasta, which was excellent & sufficient for me to share with my wife and son. I followed this with a sliced fillet steak (au rucola), a traditional Italian dish served with rocket salad and grated parmesan, with vegetables to complement (superb).
The wine list was exceptional (check the last page) and the wine was amongst the best I have ever sampled. The desserts were, according to my family, heavenly. And the bill was very reasonable. It was my son's graduation dinner (his choice) and absolutely amongst the best meals my family and I have ever had. Why is it not more famous? A truly hidden jewel.

I went to Sakushi on Saturday night with 5 friends, keen to try out the new sushi bar on Campo Lane. It has a conveyor belt but I had heard correctly that they also took orders so that we could share hot noodles alongside the little plates of fishy nibbles.
We had some delightful sashimi, outstanding udon noodles, astonishingly good tofu (I usually hate the stuff but number 55 is amazing and was recommended by our knowledgeable and enthusiastic waiter) and some unfortunately average makis. The plates are colour coded and priced individually and we got through about 40 of them.
Including two deserts, several beers, some saki and a perfectly acceptable bottle of house white our total bill was approximately £30 per head. Considering the amount and variety we had eaten we thought that was very reasonable.
It was, however, almost entirely empty - please visit this lovely little restaurant, it would be such a shame for it to close down!

I've been to this restaurant a few times now and I've got to say it's the best Indian restaurant I've been to. The food is lovely, the service is great, and the staff are really friendly.
I've been with the girls on nights out and had a really good time and I've also been a few times with my partner and find it a really nice setting for a romantic meal. The atmosphere is great, and since they have refurbished it it's even nicer than before! The new tables are wide enough to give you plenty of room instead of feeling all huddled together, the way its all set out gives you a feeling of privacy.
I also like the way the bar area is separate and you can sit comfortably and enjoy your drink. I try and have different dishes when I go and I haven't tried anything that I haven't enjoyed and found really tasty!
The buffet on a Monday is fab, it gives you the chance to try different dishes. I really recommend you try it!

What a great find!
My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to going to this place, as when we'd passed by it previously, it looked like a fun place with good food.
The starter nachos was a good way to kick-off, and I'd suggest that one portion is definitely enough for two. The main course was highly exceptional, a real treat. The chicken fajitas were the best I've ever tasted. The tender chicken was accompanied by fantastic sizzling onions and peppers and delicious guacamole, salsa, chopped vegetables and bean sauce. My advice is to include a little bit of everything in your fajita bread. My partner chose chimichanga and we both remarked at the excellent quality. The quantity is ideal.
I recommend you go in starving and you'll stand a good chance of finishing!
There was a disco on upstairs but as there were only two of us so we gave it a miss.

Although I wasn't expecting excellence at this pub / restaurant I certainly didn't expect the quality to be as poor as it was. The food was awful, I ordered the ciabatta with cheese garlic bread - it arrived black, the waiter who bought it over could visibly see it was totally black and burnt, but still served it.
I had the steak, which was average but the chips where cold and soggy. My husband's cottage pie was awful, like a puree baby food and the potato was obviously powdered. It left us feeling very nauseas and we didn't stay for desert!

The Acorn Inn is part of Greene King chain and uses their main menu, but is one of the best I have visited.
There is normal pub environment and a large conservatory, which is very nice on a summer evening.
The menu is varied with a wide choice at very good prices and there is also a specials menu.
The quantity and quality of the food was very good and the service quick and efficient by the speedy staff. Five adults dined out and had two courses each including drinks for £58. Excellent value and I will be calling again.

Read good reviews but a very disappointing experience.
Pub split in two parts, one part with large central table and smaller perimeter table - great if you like noisy, badly behaved kids as part of your dining experience. The other side full of cramped tables and fast paced waiters.
Sheffield fish cake starter served on a big square plate, which is fine if the tables are sized to accommodate them. For a lesson in fish cakes try my local chippy, it's not hard to deep fry 2 potato slices in batter with a fish filling and get the fish moist but cooked and the potato fluffy and cooked.
Steak and kidney pie served on a chopping board with a pot of mushy peas and 3 very crispy roast potatoes. Steak was a fatty, kidney absent and crust overdone. Gravy very nice.
Towards the end of the meal the pub and adjacent tables were overrun with guys who had been out running on the moor. I don't like sharing elbow personal space with loud, sweaty types in tracksuits and shorts.
If you like the idea of average pub grub at premium prices in a room full of ill behaved brats and noisy sweaty "athletes" then this is the place for you.

I went to El Paso for the first time for my 30th birthday after being told about it by my workmates and had a great night out.
The food and service was great and the food tasted beautiful. We really enjoyed our meal and then we went upstairs into the function room for the disco.
The music was a mix of Spanish/English and everyone enjoyed it. All my friends were amazed with the level of service provided and all said they will be going back.
