From the cosy and welcoming atmosphere to the delicious and plentiful food, simply a winner every time. Chez Lahlou (Steel Bank) - Alan and Carol Clarke - 7th March 2011
Rating:
We've been going to the Chez Lahlou for over 20 years. Food is fantastic, freshly prepared - don't order a starter as portions are generous. What you don't eat you can take home. Very friendly and cosy. We avoid Friday and Saturday nights as it gets busy but other nights are very relaxed. We love it! We agree toilet is a bit quirky! Cafe Guru (City Centre) - Keith Lilley - 6th March 2011
Rating:
I have been to Cafe Guru about 5 times in the last 3 years. It was great - great food, attentive service and a great experience all round. Oh how things have changed. Service the worst in the city! The waitress didn't even know if she could take our coats! Gin and tonic arrived with the tonic only and it took over 10 minutes to get the gin! The tonic was charged at £3.40 for a small mixer! Food was poor and arrived in batches. None of the food was piping hot, just tepid. Coffee was served in a variety of cups (some chipped) and no saucers. They used plates sugar also on a plate! "Alf's greasy spoon" would have been better. To cap it all when ordering the wine the waitress nipped out to the spar to fetch the bottle and then charged a £10 mark up (twice)! Oh and card machine was not working. I reckon they are going under, and disappointingly what was great isn't even mediocre. You don't need to avoid it, it will be gone soon so don't be surprised if you book it's not there! Rafters Restaurant (Ranmoor) - John Dunkley - 4th March 2011
Rating:
Weird that a place that has such a solid and well-deserved reputation as among the best in the city has only one review. We treat ourselves to a meal there from time to time and have never been disappointed. However, it is essential to plan ahead, as reservations are hard to obtain! Cross Scythes (Totley) - John Dunkley - 4th March 2011
Rating:
The evening meal was a pleasant surprise, with excellent service and very tasty cooking. This is not just a chain pub-restaurant; it is a significant notch or two up from that in both quality and price, which still represents decent value. Antibo (City Centre) - Susan Askew - 1st March 2011
Rating:
A wonderful restaurant, we have been a few times and never been disappointed. I have had something different every time. It was relaxed. We were not rushed at all. In fact we sat outside in the summer and we were pampered. Keep up the good work. Oh by the way we are going back tonight for a birthday celebration. Little India (Gleadless) - Susan Askew - 1st March 2011
Rating:
This is a small but comfortable restaurant. The food was the best I have had for a long time. The staff were helpful and very polite, without being overpowering. The service was excellent. We are booking again for the weekend for another birthday party. Angelo Cerrone's (Ecclesfield) - Keli - 28th February 2011
Rating:
Service fantastic, food exceptional, we will be back. Regards Keli and Karl. Mama's & Leonie's (City Centre) - Adam Hodson - 27th February 2011

After reading some of the earlier reviews I thought it was my duty to write of the wonderful experience that my fiancee and I had at Mama's & Leonies (26/02/2011). We hadn't booked or even heard of the place before so we had no expectations. However, when we got into the restaurant at lunch time we knew straight away that it was a popular choice. The waitresses were welcoming and although they had hardly any seats free they soon accommodated the two of us. We sat upstairs and thought the atmosphere was brilliant and decor matched a somewhat cosy but friendly ambience. I had the goat's cheese ciabatta and my fiancee had a jacket potato, both of which were very good for the price. Although they did bring the wrong ciabatta at first, this was not a problem and the right one soon came out and they even docked the drinks we had off the bill. Something that is probably a must for all milkshake lovers is their strawberry milkshake, which was very nice! All in all a very good restaurant and will be going back there very soon for dinner! Patoo (Hunters Bar) - Steve Williamson - 27th February 2011
Rating:
Had a meal for the first time at Patoo. It was early evening and fairly quiet when we arrived. We were shown to a table and given complimentary prawn crackers to start. The menu and wine selections were first-class, as was the service. The food was excellent and reasonably-priced. We were not rushed at any time during the meal, and the background music was relaxing. We will definitely be back. It was early Saturday evening when we arrived, and it was beginning to fill as the evening went on. Recommend booking a table. BB's Italian Restaurant (City Centre) - Jeremy Hunt - 26th February 2011

Went there for a work's do recently. We were seated upstairs. I heard it was crowded up there but what I saw was ridiculous - 32 people in 3 separate groups were herded in to a tiny room about the size of my living room and kitchen! The service was OK but the food was terrible. I have had much better Italian food just around the corner from BB's. Was disappointed after hearing good reports about it. Will not be going again! Bella Roma (Hillsborough) - Mark Pendlebury - 25th February 2011
Rating:
Four of us had a very nice meal and evening at the Bella Roma. It was relaxing with good food and very pleasant and helpful staff. This is in stark contrast to when it was La Civetta when the previous owner had it (who was a bit of a sleaze - my personal opinion of course) and the main waitress only paid attention to "regulars" (who presumably don't like the restaurant anymore). For two starters shared, four mains, two sweets and drinks came to a reasonable £96. Felicini (Hunters Bar) - Marian Prior - 25th February 2011
Rating:
Great food, good surroundings and superb staff who were attentive without being annoying and made the evening special for us. We will definitely be back! Thank you very much indeed Aagrah (City Centre) - Tina - 25th February 2011

Recently visited for a friend's birthday and although we booked in advance, we were made to wait a good half hour. The front staff were arrogant. When we were finally seated, we ordered straight away. However, the food didn't reach us until an hour later! It was very noisy so we had to shout amongst ourselves. The place and the food is over rated. Definitely not worth the price. I would rather go elsewhere. Ayesha's Authentic Restaurant (Ecclesall) - Emma - 25th February 2011

Great place, great food and great staff! Totally love this place, would definitely visit again soon! Vito's Italian Restaurant (Walkley) - Cristina - 24th February 2011
Rating:
Excellent! Fresh and traditional food, outstanding service, great atmosphere. Definitely an experience to try! Marco's Restaurant (Woodseats) - Kay Kennedy - 22nd February 2011

Go to this restaurant very hungry! Come out feeling extremely full! We have been a few times and never been disappointed. The food fantastic and so is the warm, friendly atmosphere. I would recommend the starter spare ribs, calzone pizza and lasagne. These are my favourites but every meal looks wonderful and you can also take your own wine. Give it a whirl, I'm sure you will end up going again as it is also value for money Ayesha's Authentic Restaurant (Ecclesall) - Tina - 22nd February 2011

The decor is perfect, very secluded and you get a sense of privacy in the restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the price! Staff are very friendly and willing to help. Would definitely go there again and would recommend this place to anyone!
Rating:
I love this restaurant! I went a couple of days ago, the environment is great, the food was really nice, and the service was kind and quick. I would highly recommended it.
Rating:
Great food as usual, this was our 4th trip, but your waiting staff could do with some training. To say they were miserable was an understatement. Overall, I'd rate the restaurant 4.5 for food (really nice and freshly cooked) but 1.5 for service. More reviews:
