Our family met yesterday for our Christmas day. What a FANTASTIC place why has no one reviewed this restaurant continually? We were met warmly and were attended to through out our visit, BUT our meals were absolutely brilliant. We have visited top restaurants all over the world. Sorry, none as tasty as this meal. Each of us agreed we could not have experienced a better meal. So our family have had a brilliant Christmas already. Thanks Bosworth's the effort was worth it to us.

Bosworth's at Bramall Lane opened earlier this year and is based at Sheffield United Football Club. It has quickly become a new favourite and now competes strongly with other city establishments like 543 and Thyme Cafe for my spend. It does however have advantages over these.

The restaurant, run by a small team including Jamie Bosworth, serves dinner and Sunday lunches but within a short time has also extended to weekday lunches. They also offer bespoke dining and superb canapes.

Its location at Bramall Lane makes it convenient and easy to access and offers plenty of free parking right outside. I have taken friends, family, colleagues and clients there and we always leave feeling totally satisfied.

The staff have worked hard on the atmosphere and ambience - since the first week it opened they have gradually transformed it into a sophisticated, elegant dining experience - and there's also a great bar to relax in before and after the meal. For those people thinking it's at a football club and that's not the place for fine dining - look beyond that notion. It really works as a first class restaurant but also as a suitable venue for a lunch date - business or pleasure.

The restaurant focuses on providing high quality modern British cuisine using a seasonal menu with daily specials. The team often prepare specials. They also offer bespoke menus for private dining in the restaurant. Above all my experience has been they are never too busy to satisfy the customer's needs.

The food is always superb. I've been a fan of Jamie for a while - his Taste restaurant in Hunters Bar takes a lot of beating for breakfasts. His food is classy and his combinations are unusual but so right. The menu changes on a regular basis and offers a good choice - in fact too good sometimes - you struggle to choose just which starter, main course or dessert to have. As a long-standing meat eater I am even swayed by his vegetarian options. He uses local products from local suppliers, a great touch and something more restaurants should focus on. The wine list is both extensive and reasonably priced. Jamie's desserts also have a city-wide reputation and his assiette of desserts and his legendary bread and butter pudding are both hot favourites. Prices for a three-course table d'hote meal range at around £23-28 during the week, with Sunday lunch at £18. Children's discounts are available on Sunday.

What is also clear on a visit, is that Jamie has a strong team behind him - both in the kitchen and front of house. Manager Helen and assistant manager Kelly are both attentive and knowledgeable about food, wine and interaction with customers. The bar staff are courteous and polite. Both Jamie and Lee, the head chef, interact with customers about the food - I feel this adds to the experience.

Bosworth's pride themselves on quality food and first class service. It is the perfect place for dinner or lunchtime dining.

Although it is in quite an unusual location, I can honestly say that my recent meal was the best food I have ever had in Sheffield. It was so fresh, there was a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and all the guests in my party had a great time. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Beautiful food.
